This week, on the site of our pilot project at the Académie du Climat, the team from Meha Construction Bois delivered, lifted-up and installed the glulam beams. Each beam rests on a metal post on one side and on the stone frame of a window on the other. The V-shaped arrangement of the beams was designed to optimize load transfer from the platform to the building's load-bearing walls. Soon, the joists and decking will be installed to allow Topager to start working on the vegetation.
Our pilot project at the Académie du Climat aims to measure the impact of our zinc roof climate adaptation system on thermal comfort, biodiversity and rainwater retention. The project is led by the City of Paris' Department of Ecological Transition and Climate with technical support from the Department of Public Works and Architecture and the Department of Green Spaces and the Environment.
